At Family Pet Center we are fully equipped to offer your pet complete diagnostic and medical Veterinary services including, but not limited to, the following:
We offer bathing and other similar grooming services, such as nail trims, at Family Pet Center. We require that all patients be current on their annual vaccinations and 6-month Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccination for all bathing and nail trim services. If your pet is behind on their vaccinations, we will be happy to catch them up on the day that the service is provided.
Family Pet Center can provide advice regarding the correction of behavioral problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
We are glad to have the opportunity to care for your pets while you have to be away. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Please contact Family Pet Center for more information, and make your boarding reservations in advance to insure we can adequately accommodate your pet. Please remember that every guest must be current on all vaccinations to board with us. We also offer day-care, long-term and medical boarding for pets that require additional care.
Dental services at Family Pet Center include teeth cleaning and polishing, dental X-Rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. Dental service on dogs and cats requires the use of general anesthesia and, therefore, will require an appointment to be scheduled. Depending on your pet's current state of dental health, we may recommend that your pet be placed on an antibiotic before and/or after their scheduled dental appointment.
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pet's complete health care needs at any age.
We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
If your pet has an emergency during normal operating hours, come right in or call us at 214-436-4551. This emergency hospital offers very good care with a complete staff and Veterinarian on the premises all night long and on holidays. We trust them to help you and your pet in a time of crisis.
Our surgical hospital is equipped with the most modern equipment, providing for a wide variety of surgical procedures. Please contact Family Pet Center to discuss the patient's needs, pre-anesthetic blood work and pain management options.
In addition to our many high quality Veterinary care services, we also offer canine and feline grooming. We require that all patients be current on their annual vaccinations and 6-month Bordetella (Kennel Cough) vaccinations for all grooming services. If your pet is behind on their vaccinations, we will be happy to catch them up on the day of the grooming. Please contact Family Pet Center for scheduling and pricing.
Heartworms are a mosquito-born parasite that can affect both cats and dogs, but are most commonly found in dogs. All dogs should be tested for heartworms a minimum of once a year. This is a simple blood test which we run in our hospital laboratory and takes only about ten minutes. We offer a variety of heartworm preventatives, as well as, full heartworm treatment in the event your pet's test result is positive.
Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and internal parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Neutering or Spaying your pet is an important part of their healthcare. Not only does it help control the pet population by reducing the number of stray or homeless animals, it also reduces your pet's risk of developing reproductive problems such as prostate cancer or mammary tumors.
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.
We have also partnered with VetsourceTM to supply you with quality products sourced directly from the manufacturer and shipped right to your front door.

Our in-house X-Ray equipment provides us the ability to view radiographs in a matter of minutes.
Keeping vaccinations up to date is the simplest way and first line of defense in maintaining your pet's health. Talk to your Veterinarian to set up a customized vaccination schedule for your pet's needs. Family Pet Center offers a full line of vaccinations to meet the patient's individual needs.
Even if your pets are seemingly healthy all year, it is essential to have an annual wellness exam to ensure there are no health problems present that you may not be able to see.
